Study shows NCAA tournament impacts productivity at work

Tonight, NCAA Division 1 basketball teams and fans across the country gathered to find out their tournament fate. Are they in or did they get axed? But did you know that the tournament madness could affect your job?

According to the Triangle Business Journal,  last year, businesses lost 175 million dollars in productivity because employees were busy checking scores.

Former Virginia Tech QB DeShazo arrested in prostitution sting

Former Virginia Tech quarterback Maurice DeShazo has been arrested in a prostitution sting in Newport News.

Our NBC affilate WAVY in Newport News reports DeShazo and 14 other men were arrested during a night operation last Friday, February 3rd.

DeShazo is charged with using a vehicle to promote prostitution.

Bail denied for Virginia Tech kicker and two others charged in home break in

Virginia Tech has suspended redshirt sophomore kicker Cody Journell

All three men involved in the home break-in will spend Christmas in jail, after a judge denied bond Thursday afternoon in Montgomery County.

During an arraignment hearing, prosecutors said Matthew Dunton knocked on Dorenzo Hudson’s door. Dunton claims Dorenzo’s roommate, Sean Allen, stole marijuana from him.

During this time, Cody Journell and Matthew Brady allegedly tried to get inside the home. After a brief argument, the prosecutors say they left.

Allen and Hudson reportedly followed Brady and Dunton to Lee Street. Journell was not with them.

Brady and Dunton say they were assaulted by Allen and Hudson, but those two have not been charged.

Journell was picked up later in another unknown location.

We have also learned that Dunton is the son of former Liberty University basketball coach Randy Dunton.
